Heritage Impact Assessment, South Staffordshire
Border Archaeology undertook a Heritage Impact Assessment in support of a planning application submitted to South Staffordshire Council for internal alterations at Church Farm, Penkridge.
In Brief
Key Points
- Heritage Impact Assessment submitted to accompany a planning application submitted to South Staffordshire Council for internal works to the Grade II Listed Building of Church Farm, a building of c.15th century origin which was extended and altered throughout the following centuries.
Summary
The proposed internal alterations predominantly related to the late-18th to late-20th century portion of the building, with the most sensitive c.15th and early-18th century fabric of the building not being impacted and the layout of this area of the building already having been significantly altered by later partitions. However, the works still represented some loss of significant historic fabric, including the removal of the only surviving late-18th to 19th century door and a lintel of similar date, and will impact the flow and architectural coherence of some areas of the building.
Results
Planning approval was granted.
