- The building’s key features included scalloped barge boards, a coal chute, several fireplaces, exposed wooden beams, and tiling
Summary
The results of the Level 2 Archaeological Building Recording were that the building was constructed between 1774-1839, with a second wing or adjoining outbuilding which may have served as a dairy or accommodation for farm workers added by 1883, and further extensions added to the building’s rear in the mid-20th century. The building’s key features included scalloped barge boards, a coal chute, several fireplaces, exposed wooden beams, and tiling. The farmhouse is part of a traditional farm complex, though its associated outbuildings have, for the majority, been converted to residential use.
