Border Archaeology Archaeologists introduce pupils to the burial in their schoolyard
Our archaeologists were recently conducting a Watching Brief at Misbourne School, Great Missenden, where they were checking that the installation of new sports facilities would not impact on any buried archaeology.
However, Excavation Manager Andrew Nettleton uncovered human remains and called in his colleague Osteoarchaeologist Dr Catherine Sinnott to help him investigate. The excavation of human remains is carefully controlled by the Ministry of Justice but Andrew and Catherine were able to show some of the school pupils their findings. Many of the pupils asked insightful questions and perhaps there are a few budding archaeologists amongst them! You can find more information on the school website.
