Summary
The cottage, which is constructed of roughly-coursed colourwashed limestone rubble masonry with a slate roof surmounted by two gable end chimneystacks, occupies a narrow, elongated plot adjacent to the medieval town walls and the South Gate, built in the early 14th century.
Several additions of 19th/20th century date have been made to the original two-unit cottage. The two gable end chimneystacks appear to be original but have been subject to a degree of repair and renewal prior to the current programme of rebuilding.
