‘Ritual’ Burial of Cattle Skulls

One of a group of nine cattle skulls, all missing the lower jaw. They were deposited together in a pit possibly dating to the Iron Age. Reasons for such deposition could vary from them being waste resulting from feasting or leather working, to a more complex ritual deposition relating to the cultural or religious practices of the time.
